Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Systems Administrator to support and maintain our organization's IT infrastructure and end-user technology across multiple office locations. Reporting to the Director of IT, this role is responsible for network management, device setup and support, employee onboarding, troubleshooting, and the creation and upkeep of IT documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs). The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver who delivers excellent internal customer service and keeps systems running reliably and securely.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the company network, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and VPN connectivity; monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues.
- Set up, configure, and deploy laptops, desktop computers, phones, iPads, and all other network-connected devices for staff.
- Install, maintain, and repair printers and other peripherals; manage print servers, drivers, and supplies coordination.
- Lead IT onboarding for new employees: provision accounts, prepare and image devices, configure email, applications, and access permissions, and provide first-day technology orientation.
- Manage IT offboarding, including account deactivation, device recovery, and data handling in line with company policy.
- Provide day-to-day troubleshooting and technical support (hardware, software, network, and account issues), resolving tickets promptly and escalating when needed.
- Travel to other office locations as required to provide on-site support, install equipment, and maintain local infrastructure.
- Create, maintain, and manage SOPs, knowledge-base articles, and IT documentation to standardize processes and support end-user self-service.
- Administer user accounts, permissions, and group policies in Active Directory / Microsoft 365 (or equivalent) environments.
- Perform routine maintenance, including system updates, patching, backups, and antivirus/endpoint security management.
- Maintain accurate hardware and software inventory and assist with license tracking and asset management.
- Support IT projects such as office moves, infrastructure upgrades, and new system rollouts.
- Follow and help enforce IT security best practices, and assist in identifying and mitigating potential risks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3–4 years of hands-on IT experience in a systems administration, IT support, or similar role.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, Wi-Fi, VPN).
- Experience deploying and supporting Windows and macOS devices, as well as iOS/Android mobile devices; familiarity with MDM tools (e.g., Intune, Jamf) is an asset.
- Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft 365 / Google Workspace administration, and user account management.
- Proven experience troubleshooting hardware, software, printers, and network issues in a business environment.
- Experience writing technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Familiarity with backup solutions, endpoint security, and patch management tools.
- Experience with helpdesk/ticketing systems (e.g., Jira Service Management, Zendesk, Freshservice).

Working Conditions
- Full-time, on-site role with regular travel between office locations.
- Occasional lifting and moving of IT equipment (up to approximately 50 lbs / 23 kg).
- Occasional after-hours or weekend work for maintenance windows, upgrades, or urgent issues.
Pay: From $70,000.00 per year
