Job Summary:
Master Edge Homes is seeking an organized, creative, and client-focused Interior Designer/Project Coordinator to join our growing team.
This role combines residential interior design with project coordination, allowing you to guide homeowners through the design and pre-construction phases of their renovation or custom home project. You will work closely with clients to understand their goals, develop design solutions, coordinate selections, manage project documentation, and help ensure each project is fully prepared for construction.
As the primary point of contact throughout the design process, you will play a critical role in delivering an exceptional client experience while collaborating with suppliers, consultants, trade partners, and internal team members.
The ideal candidate is passionate about residential design, enjoys working directly with clients, and thrives in a collaborative design-build environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Interior Design & Client Experience
- Meet with clients to understand their goals, lifestyle needs, design preferences, and project objectives.
- Develop creative and functional design solutions for renovations, additions, and custom homes.
- Guide clients through selections including cabinetry, flooring, tile, countertops, plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware, paint colours, and finishes.
- Create presentation materials and provide design recommendations that align with project budgets and objectives.
- Build strong, professional relationships with clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Coordination
- Serve as the primary liaison between clients, suppliers, consultants, and internal team members during the design and pre-construction phases.
- Create and manage design decision schedules to keep projects on track.
- Coordinate project information, specifications, approvals, and documentation.
- Assist in identifying and resolving issues that may impact project schedules or construction readiness.
- Participate in site visits, client meetings, and pre-construction planning meetings.
Documentation & Construction Readiness
- Maintain accurate project records, specifications, selections, photographs, and correspondence.
- Ensure all project information is properly documented and communicated to the construction team.
- Coordinate suppliers and consultants to ensure all required information is obtained prior to construction.
- Facilitate a smooth transition from design into construction.
Marketing & Brand Support
- Photograph projects throughout the design and construction process.
- Assist in preparing project case studies and completion documentation.
- Provide project content, photos, and design insights to support marketing initiatives.
- Represent Master Edge Homes professionally within the community and industry.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Interior Decorating, Architectural Technology, or a related field.
- Experience in residential interior design, renovations, custom homes, or a related industry.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, finishes, and design principles.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Experience with Chief Architect, SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- CSA-approved safety footwear for periodic site visits.
