Job Description:
We’re looking for someone with the energy, motivation, and intelligence to manage and control our Quality Department and all its aspects. Ensure compliance with Quality Management System based on ISO9001/AS9100, Canadian Aviation Regulations 571, 573 and 591, and products legal, regulatory and customer requirements.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Maintain ITS Quality Management System to comply with ISO 9001/AS9100 Standards.
- Coordinate external audit (ISO9000/AS9100); prepare for the audit, audited by External Auditor, answers any Corrective Actions issued by the External Auditor and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate customer audits, (audited by customer per request anytime).
- Maintain certificate of Approved Maintenance Organization by Transport Canada, FAA, EASA, JCAB, and other countries civil aviation authorities.
- Maintenance and implementation of Canadian Aviation Regulations 571, 573 and 591, FAA, EASA (European) regulations and other countries civil aviation authorities.
- Respond to customer complaints and customer corrective actions.
- Deal with any supplier quality related issues (supplier non conformances).
- Maintain Approved Supplier List and maintain records of ISO certificates for Suppliers.
- Evaluate prospective ITS supplier (visit/audit and assess capabilities).
- Maintain Non-Conformance Log (review, close and analyze).
- Maintain Vendor Corrective Action (review, close and analyze).
- Send letters to vendors to close Corrective Actions.
- Maintain Test Equipment calibration log/coordinate calibration.
- Maintain Torque Drivers, screw drivers, ESD monitors calibration activities.
- Conduct First Article Inspection and documentation of ITS Airborne Products
- Submit documents and work closely with FAA DER and customer for approval of ITS airborne products.
- Conduct Quality management meetings, send minutes and follow up on action items.
- Issue, maintain and audit Inspection and test stamps.
- Analysis of Returned Product for Repair (RMA).
- Management, coaching, mentoring of the quality department team.
- Prepare monthly Quality metrics.
- Conduct Training (Induction, ESD, FOD, and WHMIS, SMS).
- Maintain Skills matrix of ITS employees.
- Maintain Training records of ITS employees.
- Conduct Internal Audit based on yearly cycle (ISO9001/AS9100 audit checklist ; Transport Canada audit checklist; EASA audit checklist and product audit)
- Close internal audit corrective actions/observations.
- Prepares trouble reports with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) for customer returns.
- Attend production and engineering meetings; conference calls with customers.
- Participate in Design Reviews.
- Reviews and sign drawings, ECNs, other docs.
- Issue and maintain log of Quality Alerts, Quality Plans, Internal deviations and Waivers.
- Carry out trend analysis to highlight repeat problems.
- MRB, work in conjunction with Engineering to complete RCCA activities and follow up on effectiveness.
