Position Overview
We are looking for a Hydrovac Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for the safe operation of a tridem hydrovac truck and the completion of hydro excavation projects for utility locating, daylighting, trenching, and other underground construction activities.
The successful candidate will take pride in operating and maintaining equipment while working safely and efficiently on a variety of job sites.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Driving and operating a tridem hydrovac truck
- Performing hydro excavation for utility locating and daylighting
- Working around existing underground infrastructure safely and efficiently
- Conducting pre-trip inspections and routine equipment maintenance
- Setting up and maintaining safe work zones
- Completing required paperwork and daily reports
- Assisting with general construction activities as required
- Following all company safety procedures and industry best practices
Every project presents new challenges and opportunities, making this a rewarding, hands-on position in a fast-paced work environment.
Schedule
- Monday to Friday
- Typical start time of 6:00 AM
- Optional weekend work available
- Some travel and out-of-town work required depending on project location
Requirements
- Valid Manitoba Class 3 Driver's Licence
- Experience operating hydrovac equipment considered a strong asset
- Ability to perform physically demanding work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Mechanical aptitude and equipment experience considered an asset
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work safely and effectively as part of a team
Compensation
- $27.00 - $32.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
