Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring smooth daily operations, delivering exceptional customer service, and supporting the restaurant’s overall success. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food service experience, and a passion for hospitality. Previous experience in restaurant management, supervising staff, and food handling are highly valued. Duties
- Create weekly staff schedules that ensure proper coverage during busy periods while managing labour costs.
- Complete daily and weekly inventory ordering, including produce, proteins, dry goods, beverages, and restaurant supplies.
- Assist the kitchen team with food preparation during high-volume days or when additional support is required.
- Coordinate, pack, and deliver local catering orders, ensuring accuracy, presentation, and on-time and hot delivery.
- Process weekly payroll, including calculating and distributing employee tips accurately.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages before they impact service.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Supervise and support front-of-house and kitchen staff, providing coaching and addressing performance concerns when necessary.
- Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure efficient service and a positive guest experience.
- Handle customer concerns and resolve complaints professionally.
- Train and onboard new employees while reinforcing company standards and procedures.
- Monitor labour and food costs and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and operational standards and systems throughout the restaurant.
Requirements
- Proven supervisory experience in a restaurant or food service setting
- Strong background in customer service, hospitality, and team leadership
- Previous roles involving food handling, serving, or kitchen experience are preferred
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff and oversee daily operations effectively
