As an Administrative Assistant, you will:

This role is best suited to someone who is comfortable using computers, open to learning new systems and processes, adaptable to changing priorities, and willing to take on a variety of tasks as part of a team. Some tasks will be routine or basic in nature, but they are important to the overall work of the organization and provide valuable learning opportunities.
Work Location
This position is based on-site in Brandon, Manitoba.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support
- Provide general administrative support including filing, data entry, and document preparation
- Answer phones and respond to inquiries in a professional and respectful manner
- Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and maintaining calendars
- Support office organization and day-to-day administrative operations
Records and Documentation
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with agency policies
- Maintain employee personnel files
- Assist with organizing files and documentation systems
- Use agency systems and basic technology tools for communication and record keeping
Team Support
- Provide support to staff with administrative tasks and special projects
- Participate in staff recruitment efforts and processes
- Act as a resource for staff regarding software applications within the program
- Contribute to a positive and respectful workplace environment
Other
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by the HR Manager or designate
Qualifications and Requirements
Education and Experience
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed secondary or post-secondary education
- Interest in administration, office work, or community services
- Previous administrative or customer service experience is an asset
Skills and Abilities
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, data entry)
Additional Requirements
- Valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver’s License
- Access to a personal vehicle
- Ability to provide a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check
Eligibility (Canada Summer Jobs Program)
This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person with refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) at the start of employment
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with provincial legislation
