Job Title: Yard Attendant
Locations: Singhampton, Fergus, Barrie, Milton – Must be willing to travel between yards as required.
Milton will be the main reporting centre
Salary: $25.00 – $29.00 per hour (based on experience, skills, and license class)
Position Overview
The Yard Attendant is responsible for the overall maintenance, organization and operational support of all of our yards. This role involves equipment operation, material handling, and assisting with vehicle mobilization to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
Strictly adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures.
Operate forklifts, skid steers, and backhoes within the yard. (Must provide proper/updated certifications)
Pick up and deliver parts and materials as needed
Load and unload materials from trucks and move them between yard locations.
Perform material handling and inventory counts.
Operate additional machinery when required.
Trailer maintenance
Assist with vehicle loading, unloading, and mobilization.
Support snow removal and salting during the winter months.
Maintain all yards to ensure they are clean, safe, organized and well-kept.
Oversee the daily management and distribution of equipment and stock.
Conduct yourself in a safe and professional manner when interacting with customers and co-workers.
Manage yard bins and garbage disposal for office trailers.
Assist with basic repairs, shelving builds, and painting as required.
Support the operations team by addressing logistical needs and ensuring efficient workflows.
Complete quarterly vehicle audits (binders, ownership, stickers, first aid kits, and fire extinguishers).
Provide general support as assigned.
Ability to safely operate heavy equipment and machinery (asset).
Proven general labour experience.
Comfortable working outdoors approximately 90% of the time.
Physically fit and able to handle materials exceeding 50 lbs.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
Shipping and receiving experience is an asset.
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Valid G driver’s license and clean driver abstract is required
DZ License required
Willingness to work extended hours when needed.
