Facility Specialist

U-Lock Mini Storage is seeking a dedicated and motivated Facility Specialist to join our team. This role focuses on keeping our facility safe, clean, and well-maintained, while also supporting the office, and customers with friendly, professional service.
What You’ll Do:
Maintenance & Janitorial Responsibilities (Primary Focus):
- Perform daily cleaning of public areas, including washrooms, floors, hallways, stairwells, and facility grounds
- Remove garbage and recycling from all facility areas
- Sweep, vacuum, and mop storage units after move-outs
- Complete minor repairs to locker doors, walls, light fixtures, etc.
- Support seasonal maintenance such as snow removal, salt application, pressure washing, and painting
- Assist in basic landscaping duties and pest control monitoring
- Maintain the cleanliness and curb appeal of facility exteriors
Facility Safety & Security:
- Conduct daily security inspections of units, locks, gates, and surveillance systems
- Monitor and respond to unit alarms and suspicious activity
- Follow proper incident reporting procedures
- Participate in fire and emergency response protocols
Customer Support (Secondary Responsibilities):
- Greet and assist customers in-person in a friendly and professional manner
- Rent, Return, & Clean U-Haul truck rentals as required
- Assist with locker access as needed, customer payments & merchandise sales as needed.
Who You Are:
- Experienced in maintenance, janitorial, or custodial roles (2+ years preferred)
- Reliable and punctual with strong attention to detail
- Physically fit and able to perform hands-on tasks (lift, bend, shovel, etc.)
- A clear and confident communicator in English
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Holds a valid driver’s license
