Responsibilities:
- Review vendor and customer contracts ensuring alignment with company policies and capabilities
- Identify high risk areas requiring legal input
- Collaborate with internal departments to clarify requirements and validate business acceptance
- Review documents identifying, evaluating and mitigating risk to the company
- Ensure company is aware of its obligations in order to comply with contractual requirements
- Maintain confidentiality while handling legal and business information
- Assist in the development and maintenance of playbooks, contract library and guidelines
Requirements:
- Post secondary education in relevant discipline along with 5+ years of experience
- Previous experience in reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
- Understanding of commercial terms, pricing models, service level agreements and contract obligations for customers and vendors
- Proven ability to assess contractual risk, make sound decisions and identify, escalate and resolve risk issues appropriately
- Solid knowledge of key commercial contract principles
- Experience using contract lifecycle management systems or workflow management tools
- Strong communication and prioritization skills
- Good working knowledge of software and systems
- CPCM or CIPs (level 4-6 or MCIPS) certification is considered an asset
- A collaborative team player with a practical, problem solving and process improvement focus
