Job Summary
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Millwright to join our Maintenance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical systems within a manufacturing environment. This position requires strong technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and ensure all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in the ERP system.
- Support production teams in crisis management and equipment breakdown situations.
- Participate in training and skill development programs for apprentices.
- Fabricate and weld machinery guarding, platforms, and foundry tools as needed.
- Ensure all work meets applicable safety codes, standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate with other departments to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Certificate of Qualification or Apprenticeship – Red Seal
- Certificate of Qualification or Apprenticeship (Industrial Millwright) – Red Seal
- 5+ years of experience in a diecast, automotive, or manufacturing environment performing similar tasks
Skills & Abilities
- Maintain and repair plant equipment — including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform preventative maintenance and respond to equipment breakdowns.
- Fabricate and weld machine guards, platforms, tools, and other plant necessities.
- Maintain accurate work records in the company’s ERP system.
- Participate in training and skill transfer for apprentices.
- Contribute to workplace safety and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in crisis management during equipment failures or emergency breakdown situations.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
- Familiarity with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and related regulations.
