Qualifications
- UCP Certificate
- Experience in retirement living is an asset.
- Experience in a healthcare/hospitality setting (asset) and empathy for seniors.
- Ability to speak and write English; follow verbal/written directions; perform simple arithmetic.
- Good physical and mental health; free from communicable disease.
- Certified in CPR and First Aid (recommended).
- Vulnerable sector police screening and TB test.
- Understanding of the nursing process; willingness to keep current with changing regulations/practices.
Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated UCP (Universal Care Provider) to join our team in providing exceptional care to individuals in assisted living, nursing homes, and home care settings. The ideal candidate will support seniors and individuals with disabilities through personalized assistance, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. This role involves a variety of duties aimed at enhancing quality of life and promoting independence for those in our care.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications accurately following prescribed guidelines
- Communicate with residents, families, physicians and team members effectively.
- Monitor residents’ health status and report any concerns to supervisory staff
- Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care is preferred
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring dementia care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures is required
- Compassionate attitude with excellent caregiving skills
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Must be reliable, patient, and attentive to residents’ needs
