Medical Office Assistant
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare clinic.The ideal candidate will provide exceptional front desk support, manage electronic medical records using Accuro EMR
(Training can be provided before start)
and assist with administrative tasks in a friendly medical office environment. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with medical terminology, and experience with office management systems. The Medical Office Assistant will be a key point of contact for patients and physician ensuring smooth daily operations and a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, providing a welcoming environment
- Manage phone calls to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages efficiently.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records using Accuro
- Verify patient insurance information and update records accordingly
- Assist with check-in and check-out procedures, including collecting payments and updating patient information
- Prepare and organize documentation for patient visits, referrals, and follow-up appointments
- Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence
- Coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely patient care delivery
- Handle administrative duties related to appointment scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a medical or dental office setting preferred; experience with electronic medical records systems such is highly desirable (training available before start)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and office procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in using phone inquiries and standard office software
- Previous experience as a front desk receptionist or administrative assistant in healthcare is preferred
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment while maintaining professionalism
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification in medical assisting or office administration is a plus
Pay: $17.20-$26.10 per hour
