Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cafeteria Workers to join our clients team on the day shift 6:00am to 2:30pm and afternoon shift 4pm to 1:00am. The ideal candidates will possess a strong background in food service and hospitality, with a passion for providing excellent customer service. This role involves preparing and serving food, maintaining cleanliness in the cafeteria, and ensuring a positive dining experience for all guests.
Our client is looking for full time, part time and on-call staff.
Due to the location you must have your own vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve meals in accordance with established recipes and portion sizes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafeteria area, including dining spaces and food preparation areas.
- Coverage for cashier when needed.
- Working as a short order cook when needed
- Assist with food handling and ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service during peak hours.
- Support catering events and banquets as needed, contributing to menu planning and execution.
- Perform routine inventory checks on supplies and report any shortages or needs to management.
- Uphold high standards of hygiene and sanitation in all food preparation processes.
- Cleaning and washing dishes at the end of shift
Experience
- Previous experience in the food industry is preferred, including cafeteria aide.
- Fine dining experience is a plus, showcasing an understanding of high-quality service standards.
- Familiarity with food preparation techniques and safe food handling practices is essential.
- Previous QSR experience an asset
- Customer service experience is required; ability to interact positively with guests is crucial.
- Experience in catering or banquet settings is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Knowledge and experience working a POS terminal
- A background in hospitality will be beneficial for creating a welcoming environment for diners.
