Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Courier Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for timely and safe delivery of goods, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the integrity of shipments. Candidates should possess a valid driver’s license and be comfortable operating various types of equipment as needed for deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver freight and packages to designated locations within scheduled timeframes
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, including forklifts and heavy machinery when necessary
- Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries and pickups, including verifying shipment details
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of the vehicle, performing routine inspections and basic repairs if required
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during transportation activities
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or issues
- Assist with warehouse operations such as loading freight or operating heavy equipment as needed
- Report any vehicle maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly to management
Skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in commercial driving preferred
- Ability to operate forklifts, heavy equipment, or other machinery used in freight handling
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
- Strong organizational skills to manage delivery schedules efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively when required
- Physical ability to lift, carry, or move freight weighing up to 50 pounds regularly
- Prior experience in freight handling or logistics is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for specific equipment operation
