Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Dental Sterilization Technician to join our dental practice. This vital role ensures the highest standards of infection control and patient safety by properly sterilizing and preparing dental instruments and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. This position offers an opportunity to work within a supportive team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Clean, disinfect, package, and sterilize dental instruments and equipment according to IPAC and infection control protocols.
- Operate and monitor sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners.
- Maintain accurate sterilization records, logs, and biological monitoring documentation.
- Prepare instrument cassettes and procedure trays for clinical use.
- Turn over and disinfect treatment rooms between patients.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the sterilization area.
- Monitor inventory levels and restock clinical and sterilization supplies.
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing supplies.
- Support the clinical team with operatory setup and other duties as required.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and office policies.
Qualifications
- Previous dental sterilization, dental assistant, or healthcare experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of IPAC standards and sterilization procedures preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols accurately.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Experience with dental software is considered an asset but not required.
