Duties
- Assist with diagnosing vehicle issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations
- Use hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete repair tasks
- Support more experienced mechanics with complex repairs such as engine work or transmission service
- Follow safety protocols during all repair procedures, including heavy lifting and the use of protective gear
- Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the workshop area
- Learn to interpret technical manuals and schematics to facilitate repairs
- Participate in training sessions to develop skills in automotive systems, assembly, and maintenance procedures
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients about vehicle status when appropriate
Qualifications
- Prior dealership experience or mechanical knowledge is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic automotive repair techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work in physically demanding environments
- Strong interest in automotive repair, maintenance, and mechanical systems
- Basic understanding of schematics and assembly processes is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills and a professional attitude
- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work as part of a team
- High school diploma or equivalent required; ongoing education or technical training in automotive technology is advantageous
