About the Role:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Backfill Labourer to join our team. This role is essential in supporting excavation and construction projects by ensuring proper backfilling, compaction, and site cleanup. The ideal candidate is physically fit, safety-conscious, and able to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform backfilling duties using appropriate materials and techniques
- Assist with excavation, trenching, and grading work
- Operate hand tools and small equipment (e.g., tampers, compactors)
- Ensure proper compaction and leveling of soil or other materials
- Follow site plans and supervisor instructions carefully
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Support other crew members as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous construction or labour experience preferred
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (lifting, bending, standing for long periods)
- Knowledge of basic construction tools and equipment
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Valid driver’s license
