Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Massage Therapist to join our wellness team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping clients achieve relaxation and relief from tension through therapeutic massage techniques. This role requires strong communication skills and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service in a serene and professional environment.
Duties:
Client Care
- Perform massage therapy sessions based on client needs and assessments- Maintain accurate and timely treatment records
- Provide client education and home care recommendations
- Uphold confidentiality and professional boundaries
Administrative
- Charting and updating client records in JaneApp
- Confirm client details (insurance, preferences, history)
- Process direct billing when required
Housekeeping
- Change linens and sanitize treatment rooms after each session
- Restock supplies in treatment rooms
- Maintain cleanliness of shared clinic areas (e.g., reception, washroom)
Team Collaboration
- Attend team meetings when scheduled
- Share updates and communicate effectively with fellow practitioners
- Support clinic goals and special projects (as needed)
Independent Work
- Manage your own treatments
- Take initiative to maintain your workspace and stay organized
- Flexibility in schedule (mornings, evenings, weekdays, weekends, holidays, etc.,)
Requirements:
1. Education & Training
- Completion of a minimum 2,200-hour massage therapy program from a recognized school plus continuing education certifications
2. Membership with a Recognized Association in Alberta:
- Massage Therapy Association of Alberta (MTAA)
- Canadian Massage and Manual Osteopathic Therapists Association (CMMOTA)
- Natural Health Practitioners of Canada (NHPC)
- Canadian Registered Massage Therapist Association (CRMTA)
3. Liability Insurance
- Must carry professional liability (malpractice) insurance as required by associations and some employers.
4. First Aid & CPR Certification
- Most associations require therapists to maintain current Standard First Aid & CPR certification.
5. Business Licensing & Compliance
- A City of Calgary Business License which will require police vulnerable sector clearance
