Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive dental hygiene care, including periodontal assessment, scaling, root planing, polishing, and fluoride treatment
- Review patients’ medical and dental histories
- Complete oral health assessments and identify areas of concern
- Take digital dental radiographs when required
- Educate patients about oral hygiene, periodontal health, and preventive care
- Develop individualized dental hygiene treatment plans
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and confidential clinical records
- Follow current infection prevention and control standards
- Work collaboratively with dentists, assistants, administrative staff, and other members of the dental team
- Help create a positive and comfortable experience for every patient
Skills
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario
- Valid professional liability insurance
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Knowledge of current infection prevention and control requirements
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills
- Friendly, professional, and patient-focused approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous dental hygiene experience is preferred; however, new graduates are welcome to apply
- Experience with dental software, such as ABELDent is an asset
Pay: $50.00-$55.00 per hour
