Workshop Vegetarian Cafe is a locally owned plant-based café serving fresh, made-from-scratch Japanese inspired food in a warm community setting. We are looking for an energetic, friendly, and dependable Front Counter Server/Barista who enjoys working with people and can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to grow with a small but expanding company.
Position Details
● Part-time and full-time positions available
● Daytime shifts (4–8 hours)
● Current hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–4:30 PM
● Weekend shifts may be added as we expand
● Please include your availability when applying
What You’ll Do
● Provide friendly, efficient customer service
● Take orders and operate the POS system
● Prepare espresso drinks, coffee, tea, smoothies, and other beverages
● Learn the menu, ingredients, and common allergens
● Restock displays and keep the showcase looking great
● Clear tables, wash dishes, and maintain the dining area
● Help with opening and closing duties
● Keep the café clean, including washrooms and back-of-house areas
● Support the kitchen and front-of-house team during busy periods

Qualifications
● Previous café, coffee shop, or restaurant experience is an asset
● Barista experience is an asset, but not required
● Food Safe Level 1 certification is an asset, or willingness to obtain
● Interest in plant-based food and healthy eating is a bonus
