Mos Mos Coffee is a recognizable, expanding brand in downtown Toronto. We are currently looking for a Kitchen Assistant / Baker to join our team with the opportunity for growth as a Baker or Barista. You must consistently commit to early mornings (6:00am on weekdays and 8:00am on weekends).
Kitchen Responsibilities (70%):
- Preparing for store opening with baked goodies and food.
- Safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools/equipment/appliances to prepare ingredients and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
- Must be able to work independently without little to no supervision.
- Follow and ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene procedures.
- Stock display shelves and fridges as needed, and maintain inventory
- Be able to lift and carry objects weighing 25 pounds without assistance. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Be able to stand for an extended period of time.
- Receive, rotate and stock ingredients and inventory
- Wash and disinfect kitchen area; set-up and break-down workstation; and follow and ensure compliance with sanitation and cleaning procedures.
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others and support team to reach common goals.
Barista Responsibilities (30%):
- Greet and assist customers while anticipating their needs
- Prepare and serve coffees, teas, specialty beverages while following Mos Mos recipes because consistency is what gets customers coming back
- Prepare and serve food items while following Mos Mos standards
- Maintain clean and sanitary work area
- Set up and breakdown coffee bar, stations or store including cleaning and sanitizing
- Other duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a coffee shop/cafe environment or in a kitchen or related environment
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
- Able to lift up to 25kg equipment and ingredients.
Working hours (not limited to):
Thursday & Friday 6:00am to 12:00pm
Weekend 8:00am to 2:00pm

Pay: $18.20 per hour
