Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Skid Steer Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment, including skid steers, and possess a strong understanding of construction site safety and procedures. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing a variety of machinery such as dozers, excavators, loaders, and graders. Candidates with mechanical knowledge and experience in paving, horizontal drilling, or backhoe operation are highly encouraged to apply. The position is full-time and requires a commitment to safety, efficiency, and quality workmanship.
Duties
- Operate skid steers and other heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, and backhoes to perform various construction tasks
- Assist with site preparation, grading, excavation, paving, and material handling
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on machinery to minimize downtime
- Follow project plans and instructions from supervisors to complete tasks efficiently
- Maintain a clean work environment by adhering to safety protocols and best practices on-site
- Support other team members with equipment operation as needed during construction activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating skid steers and heavy construction equipment such as dozers, excavators, loaders, graders, and backhoes
- Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not required
- Construction or heavy equipment operation experience is highly desirable
- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment or similar brands is a plus
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments and lift up to 50 pounds when necessary
- Strong commitment to safety standards and procedures on construction sites
- Prior experience with paving, horizontal drilling, or grading is advantageous
- Must be dependable with excellent attention to detail and teamwork skills
Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
