POSITION: Assistant Operations Manager
STARTING WAGE: $30 per hour to start, negotiable for
ideal candidate
Limberis Seafood Processing Ltd. is looking for a competent, punctual, energetic person who is willing to learn new tasks to fill the Assistant Operations Manager position. This position will involve working in the processing plant and in the office.
Ladysmith is located 25 min south of Nanaimo, and 1 hour north of Victoria, and is in close proximity to Nanaimo International Airport and BC Ferries. The town itself is located on the beautiful waters of the Salish Sea, offering all kinds of marine activities to local residents. The jobsite overlooks the waters of Inner Ladysmith Harbour, and would allow for direct launching of kayaks and other small watercraft from the plant. The town is growing, and has all required amenities, such as schools, swimming pool with fitness centre, and all kinds of shops and boutiques.
This job is F/T and is permanent. Extended health and dental benefits will be offered to the successful candidate. Cost-of-living raise review will happen annually.

Skills and Qualifications
· education and / or job experience, in any of the following fields: Fisheries and aquaculture; biology; food processing; food safety.
· Ability to clearly and effectively communicate via letters and emails
· Ability to learn and operate computer-monitoring systems (in-house programs), experience with all aspects of Microsoft Office
· Ability to learn and understand government regulations pertaining to food processing required for daily operations
· Strong troubleshooting skills
· Ability to learn how to co-ordinate all aspects of production management
· Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
· Secure and maintain QMP compliance
· Strong organizational and time-management skills
· Support operational leadership in all departments
· Leadership skills
· Experience operating boats an asset
