Job Summary
We are looking for a dependable, experienced, and hands-on General Manager to lead the daily operations of our sandwich shop. This role is responsible for running the business day-to-day, leading the team, maintaining high food and customer service standards, and ensuring smooth and profitable operations.
The ideal candidate is a natural leader who can take ownership of the shop, build a strong team culture, solve problems independently, and keep operations running efficiently without constant supervision from ownership. This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced food service environment and understands how to balance customer experience, staff management, and operational performance.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily sandwich shop operations including front counter service, kitchen workflow, prep, cleaning, and customer experience
- Lead, train, supervise, and motivate staff to maintain a positive and productive work environment
- Manage scheduling, shift coverage, hiring, onboarding, discipline, and performance evaluations
- Ensure all food preparation, food handling, and sanitation procedures meet health and safety standards
- Maintain strong customer service standards and professionally resolve customer concerns or complaints
- Monitor inventory, food costs, ordering, and supplier relationships to ensure proper stock levels and minimize waste
- Operate and oversee POS systems, cash handling, deposits, and end-of-day reporting
- Maintain labor costs and assist with budgeting and operational efficiency
- Ensure the shop is clean, organized, and operating smoothly at all times
- Take initiative in improving operations, increasing sales, and building strong community relationships
- Communicate regularly with ownership regarding performance, staffing, operational issues, and opportunities for growth
- Be accountable for opening and closing procedures and overall day-to-day management of the business
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant, café, quick-service, or sandwich shop management experience preferred
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Experience with scheduling, hiring, training, and staff accountability
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and daily reporting
- Ability to multitask and make decisions confidently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Self-motivated and capable of managing operations independently
- Reliable, professional, and customer-focused
- Flexible availability including weekends and holidays as needed

Pay: $42,000.00-$46,000.00 per year
