Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of freight handling, heavy equipment operation, and commercial driving practices. The Truck Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining the integrity of the cargo.
Responsibilities
- Operate trucks to transport freight to designated locations in a safe and timely manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel use, and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, road conditions, and any issues that may arise during transit.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
- Perform basic maintenance on the vehicle as needed, including minor automotive repairs.
- Operate forklifts or other heavy equipment as required for loading and unloading.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is required.
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a strong understanding of freight operations.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation is preferred.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a basic understanding of automotive repair.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must pass all required background checks and drug screenings.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
