Part-Time Infant & Toddler Nanny Needed
Job Summary
A loving and experienced nanny is needed for a warm and busy family with a newborn and a 1.5-year-old child, beginning at the end of August 2026.
The family is seeking an energetic, engaging, and reliable nanny with strong infant and toddler experience. This role will primarily support the family during the afternoon and evening hours once the toddler returns home from daycare. Responsibilities will include daycare pick-up, keeping the toddler engaged in age-appropriate activities, assisting with dinner, bath, and bedtime routines, and providing support with the newborn as needed.
The family also has a small dog in the home; however, no pet care is required.
Mom plans to begin working from home in early 2027, and there may be an opportunity for additional hours at that time if it is a good fit for everyone.
Position Details
Location: Bathurst & St. Clair, Toronto
Children: Newborn and 1.5-year-old
Start Date: End of August 2026
Contract Length: Long-term
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM
The family can offer some flexibility with scheduling for the right candidate.
Compensation: $28–$30/hour gross
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care for both children.
- Pick up the toddler from daycare and supervise afternoon and evening routines.
- Engage the children in age-appropriate activities, including imaginative play, crafts, games, outdoor activities, and educational play.
- Prepare bottles, snacks, and simple meals for the children.
- Assist with infant care as needed throughout the day.
- Support dinner, bath, and bedtime routines.
- Maintain children’s daily routines, including naps and feeding schedules.
- Complete light housekeeping related to the children, including:
- Children’s laundry
- Tidying play areas and bedrooms
- Cleaning up after meals
- Loading and unloading the dishwasher
- Assist with family meal preparation when time permits.
- Communicate openly with parents regarding the children’s activities, development, and any concerns.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional nanny experience in a private home.
- Minimum 2 years of experience caring for infants
- Experience caring for multiple young children simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment.
- Patient, energetic, and positive approach to childcare.
- Ability to multitask and manage busy family routines.
- Basic cooking and meal preparation skills.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to renew.
- Current Police Clearance Check or willingness to obtain one.
- Minimum of 3 childcare-related references.
