Rock Solid Supply is looking for a Controller to protect the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of our financial records — the foundation leadership relies on to make sound, well-informed decisions. This is a role for someone who takes ownership of financial truth, holds the line on controls, and operates independently of commercial pressure. Success here looks like leadership never having to second-guess the numbers — the close happens like clockwork, reconciliation issues get resolved at the root instead of recurring, and nothing about compliance or cash position is ever a surprise.
WHO WE ARE
At Rock Solid, we believe it's not what we build — it's who we build.
Our purpose is to elevate the human experience by activating our individual and collective strengths. We are a people-first, problem-solving manufacturing company committed to delivering happiness — to our customers and to each other.
Our values guide every decision:
- Unleash Your Unique Ability — we nurture the strengths of every team member.
- Commit to Excellence — “good enough” is never enough.
- Servant Leadership — we lead with respect, integrity, and humility.
- Deliver Happiness — we turn ordinary moments into extraordinary ones, for customers and each other.
For a Controller, that means real ownership over financial truth, a team that expects excellence rather than compliance theatre, and leadership that treats control discipline as a partnership, not a policing function.
What You'll Do
- Own the general ledger, financial close process, and the integrity of our P&L, balance sheet, and cash reporting.
- Set accounting policy — classifications, accruals, and revenue/expense recognition — and apply it consistently.
- Approve payroll runs and credit exceptions with real, substantive review.
- Own bank reconciliation standards and resolve discrepancies before they become problems.
- Lead a disciplined, predictable financial close — monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Coordinate audit, tax, and compliance work with external advisors.
- Surface control gaps and compliance risks early, before they become surprises.
What You Bring
The qualifications below reflect the scope of this role; adjust freely before publishing.
- CPA designation strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including full-cycle close.
- Comfort working in an ERP environment (Syspro experience an asset).
- Solid grounding in ASPE and Canadian tax filing requirements (HST, QST).
- A track record of independent judgment on financial controls — someone who can say no to a commercial ask when the numbers don't support it.
If you're a Controller who takes ownership of financial truth and thrives on getting the details right, we encourage you to apply by submitting your resume and a brief cover letter.
We are committed to providing accommodations in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). If you require accommodation during any part of the recruitment process, please contact us.
