Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, assembling ingredients, and portioning meals, heating up food.
- Transporting food from our main location to our other centres
- Serve meals to children in a friendly, respectful manner while adhering to proper food handling procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning and sanitation practices.
- Complete dishwashing and organizing supplies to ensure a tidy work environment.
- Follow all food safety protocols and sanitation standards to promote a healthy dining experience for residents.
- Support the kitchen team during busy meal times by managing time efficiently and assisting where needed.
- Be aware of all food allergies in the program while preparing and serving food
Experience
- Experience preparing food with awareness of food allergies and dietary restrictions.
- Familiarity with food preparation, cooking, and food service operations enhances your ability to succeed in this role.
- Strong understanding of food safety practices, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Prior kitchen or food handling experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
