Please be aware that we are not located in Winnipeg as we are approximately 40min from Winnipeg in Beausejour and there is no public transportation available.
A Manitoba drivers license ( full class 5) and reliable vehicle is required. We will also require a drivers abstact if you are selected as the candidate for the position.
Current positions are 75 hours biweekly. 830am to 4pm. Starting wage is $18.00 an hour which increases to $19.00 an hour after 1 year.
We are looking for some energetic and positive individuals to assist individuals in our day program. The candidate should be flexible, adaptable. The day program assists in many areas such as skill building, physical activities, outings, gardening , cooking, music etc.
Duties:
Fast paced environment and the ability to work with many different individuals and on your own or as a team.
- Assist with daily programming and outings
- Assist individuals in job preparation or learning essential skills to increase independence and knowledge
- Provide direct care and support to individuals in a community setting
- Assist with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules and document accurately
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Monitor and report changes in individuals' physical and emotional well-being
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals
Experience:
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field preferred
- Knowledge of senior care, patient care, assisted living, home care, dementia care, hospice care, or similar areas is a plus
- Ability to handle heavy lifting and physically/ mentally demanding tasks
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Compassionate and patient demeanor
- ASL knowledge is an asset
