We are expanding our team and currently seeking an experienced Water/Sewer and Earthworks Foreman / Top Man/ Pipelayers & Pipe Layers Helpers.
FOREMAN
We are looking for a person who is professional, punctual and can independently problem solve. Must be able to perform excellent communication skills as the Operating Foreman will be dealing with contractors one on one.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Delegate/Coordinate daily tasks and procedures to all personnel on site
- Safe operation of equipment and work practices.
- Ensure quality control for all workmanship
- Follow ALL company procedures and report any incidents
Required Skills:
- Thorough understanding of construction equipment and methodology required to efficiently install underground pipe and structures.
- Must have knowledge of water, storm and sanitary procedures.
- Extensive knowledge of civil construction, load securement, hoisting, rigging and lifting techniques/procedures
- Strong communications skillset
- Ability to work with various personalities and provide clear direction
Required Experience/Certification:
- 5+ years experience with Underground and Civil/Earthworks Construction
- In depth experience with locates and working around existing utilities
- Experience with trench boxes/cages
- Possess a valid class 5 drivers license and own transportation.
- Safety training (First Aid, Ground Disturbance, WHIMIS, CSTS, etc.)
TOPMAN
Trenex Corporations is seeking a skilled Topman to join our team in the Water & Sewer division. If you have experience in Survey (Geodetics), pipe installation, and guiding crews, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Shoot grade with transit and laser equipment
- Must know and understand geodetic elevations
- Ensure all installed materials are on design elevation and location
- Must have good math skills
- Read and interpret drawings to ensure accurate installation
- Direct and signal heavy equipment operators
- Assist in the material installation
- Cut and bevel pipe
- Support setting up and putting away tools
- Assist the Foreman with paperwork and organizing crew/subcontractors
- Instruct and guide crew on job tasks & mentor inexperienced workers
Qualifications
- Experience working in water and sewer projects
- Strong understanding of excavation, grading, and pipe installation
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
Experience PIPELAYER / Pipelayers Helpers
Responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains. Ensures ground is prepped and trenches dug out for pipes. Aligns pipes and seal joints together with cement or glue.
Primary Responsibilities
- Configure pipe routes.
- Align pipes in pipeline sections.
- Dig trenches with trenching tools.
- Slide pipe into trenches.
- Communicate to tractor driver where to move pipe in preparation for welding.
- Insert spaces in between pipes.
- Pull out defective or misaligned pipes.
- Correct alignments with sledgehammers.
- Inspect places where pipes are fitted together to ensure pipes are spaced out properly and according to specifications.
- Lay pipe for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.
- Grade trenches or culverts.
- Seal joints.
- Use glue or welding equipment to ensure pipes are tightly fitted.
- Ensure pipes are fitted and aligned using grade rods or transit levels.
- Cover pipes with dirt or other material.
- Drill holes into pipes for auxiliary lines.
- Perform continual maintenance on pipes and replace those needing repair.
- Utilize magnetic or radio indicators.
