Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Fence and Deck Installer to join our construction team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining fences and decks on residential and commercial properties. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, construction, and the use of various hand and power tools. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure accurate installation of fences and decks
- Measure and mark sites for proper placement of structures according to specifications
- Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and machinery safely and efficiently during installation processes
- Prepare surfaces by leveling, framing, or forming concrete as needed for deck supports or fence posts
- Install fencing materials such as wood, vinyl, chain-link, or ornamental styles with precision
- Build decks using carpentry techniques, including framing, decking, railing, and stairs
- Perform concrete forming, finishing, and masonry work related to deck footings or fence posts
- Apply caulking, sealing, or waterproofing agents to ensure durability of installations
- Maintain a clean work environment and adhere to safety protocols at all times
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and meet quality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction, carpentry, or related fields with a focus on fence and deck installation preferred
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings accurately
- Proficiency with hand tools (hammers, saws, levels) and power tools (drills, saws) required
- Knowledge of concrete forming, finishing, masonry, welding, plumbing, electrical work, or restoration is a plus
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is advantageous but not mandatory
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to construction sites
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license preferred for transportation to job sites
