Our client is looking for a Lead Technician – Off-Highway Equipment to join their team in Saanichton, BC. This full-time position involves overseeing the maintenance, repair, and reliability of heavy off-highway and material-handling equipment. The role combines shop-based work with field service, providing a dynamic and engaging work environment. The schedule is Tuesday to Saturday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with all necessary tools and equipment provided.

Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, and repair loaders, excavators, telehandlers, and other heavy equipment.
- Lead preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment performance.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules, parts procurement, and external service providers.
- Supervise and mentor technicians and apprentices to foster skill development and teamwork.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance history and equipment performance using fleet management software.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support initiatives aimed at improving asset reliability and operational efficiency.
- Operate a company service truck to perform field repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Collaborate with operations teams to address equipment issues promptly and effectively.
- Train staff on best practices for equipment operation and maintenance.

Qualifications
- Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician certification.
- Experience repairing and maintaining off-highway and stationary heavy equipment.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driver's abstract.
- Familiarity with fleet management and work order software (experience with Fleetio is an asset).
- Ability to supply personal hand and power tools relevant to the trade.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
