Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our hospitality and food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation, customer service, and restaurant management. This role is vital in ensuring smooth service, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, and leading a team to deliver exceptional guest experiences. The Shift Leader will serve as a key point of contact during their shift, supervising staff, managing customer interactions, and ensuring compliance with all operational procedures.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate team members during assigned shifts, including front-of-house and kitchen staff
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and food handling to ensure quality and safety standards are met
- Manage POS systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling procedures
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Assist with interviewing, onboarding, and training new team members
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed
- Enforce restaurant policies, procedures, and safety protocols
- Lead by example in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient work environment
- Support restaurant management in implementing operational strategies to improve service delivery
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant management, or hospitality roles including supervising or team management experience
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking processes, and food safety standards
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms; cash handling experience required
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on hospitality excellence
- Experience in interviewing and training staff preferred
- Background in hotel or barista experience is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of food industry regulations and best practices in food safety and sanitation
