Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Fleet and Depot, the Mobile Mechanic is responsible for providing efficient road service repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy-duty vehicles and trailers. This position requires autonomy, strong diagnostic skills, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. This role involves variable shifts depending on operational needs, and work will often be required outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends
Key Accountabilities
- Respond to emergency roadside service calls and perform on-site mechanical repairs.

Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on trucks, chassis, and trailers.

Conduct preventative maintenance and inspections in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

Document work is performed using maintenance software and complete service reports accurately.

Maintain a clean, safe, and well-equipped service vehicle.

Communicate clearly with dispatch, fleet management, and drivers to coordinate service.

Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements (e.g., CVOR, NSC, SAAQ, etc.).
Required skills

Diploma of Vocational Studies (DEP) in Mécanique de véhicules lourds routiers (Heavy Road Vehicle Mechanics) is required.

Valid Qualification Certificate from Emploi-Québec or equivalent recognized training.

Minimum 3–5 years of experience with heavy truck and trailer repair.

Valid Class 5 driver’s license required; Class 1 license is an asset.

Experience performing mobile or field-based repairs preferred.

Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills using computer-based tools.

Able to work independently and manage time effectively.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Bilingual (French/English) is an asset.
