As we continue to scale our footprint across the GTA and Ottawa, we are looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Junior Corporate Accountant to manage our daily financial ecosystem and act as a vital strategic partner to our leadership.
The Role
In this position, you will own the day-to-day full-cycle accounting functions for a growing multi-location business. You will bridge the gap between financial precision and strategic business planning; managing everything from payroll to cash flow reconciliation, while collaborating directly with ownership on high-level budgeting.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Financial Operations: Manage Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and routine ledger entries.
- POS & Revenue Tracking: Efficiently reconcile daily sales, transactions, and merchant reports through our Point of Sale system (Square).
- Payroll & Compliance: Process regular team payroll, manage accrued vacation pay (4%), track source deductions, and process Records of Employment (ROEs) when necessary.
- Taxation & Remittances: Prepare and file timely HST remittances, manage corporate reporting timelines, and coordinate annual corporate tax returns.
- HR Operational Support: Collaborate on the administrative infrastructure required to roll out and support our upcoming employee benefits program.
- Executive Advisory: Support the business owner with personal financial filings and administrative corporate tasks.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate closely with management to establish annual budgets, build financial forecasts for new expansion, and actively identify operational cost-saving strategies.
What You Bring
- Relevant accounting designation (CPA/CGA pathways).
- Solid baseline knowledge of full-cycle accounting, Canadian payroll compliance, and provincial tax regulations.
- High proficiency with digital tools, modern cloud accounting platforms, and POS software (experience with Square data integration is a major asset).
- High organizational grit; you enjoy the puzzle of balancing multiple clinic balance sheets and keeping data exceptionally clean.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset; you can translate financial metrics into actionable insights for management.
