Courtyard Prince George is recruiting for a Chief Engineer to join our leadership team! The Chief Engineer is responsible for all engineering/maintenance operations, including maintaining the building, grounds and equipment with attention towards safety, security and asset protection. This role will also be responsible for managing department’s controllable budget, assist in capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance and energy conservation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and perform day-to-day maintenance activities and brand standard requirements
- Manage and perform effective rooms preventative maintenance program
- Develop, maintain and update maintenance routines and inventory sourcing
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment
- Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed
- Strong general mechanical ability
- Display proficiency in at least two of the following categories: Air conditioning and refrigeration, Electrical, mechanical, plumbing, Carpentry and finish skills, Kitchen equipment, General Building Maintenance
- Skill in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials required to perform repair and maintenance tasks
- Safely perform complex repairs of the physical property, electrical, plumbing and mechanical equipment, air conditioners, refrigeration and pool heaters
- Receive, arrange/source, track, monitor and report status of maintenance and repair work
- Perform daily pool check including monitoring and adjusting chemical levels
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Move up and down stairs, service ramps and/or ladders
- Must have flexible availability
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including the ability to move, lift, carry, push/pull and place objects up to 50lbs without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling and stooping.
- Must be able to understand both oral and written English
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience and training in general maintenance
- Certifications considered an asset
