Quality Greens is 100% locally owned and operated, full-service market currently recruiting a full-time Produce Manager. The ideal candidate will be able to work 40 hours per week and must be available to work mornings, afternoons, and at least one day on the weekend.

Under the supervision of the Store Manager, this position is responsible for providing top-notch customer service, managing staff, ordering, merchandising, and maintaining the Produce department in accordance with all department procedures. In addition, as a Produce Manager, you are responsible for providing high-quality, fresh produce, maintaining department cleanliness and adhering to all safety and hygiene procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Support the success of Quality Greens by leading a sales-driven team responsible for the Produce Department, who take customer service, quality and presentation to heart.
- Coordinate with the Produce Specialist to set weekly flyer ads
- Manage daily ordering, rotation and merchandising to ensure displays are full and quality is exceptional at all times
- Assess the success of individual products and communicate movement reports, new listings, product shorts, etc., regularly
- Maintain and review all signage to ensure that it is in good shape, is accurate in both price and description, and that all products are signed
- Source and order produce locally whenever possible
- Monitor quality daily and contact suppliers for credit or returns when applicable
- Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment
- Adhere to Health and Safety policies, including exposure control notices if required to clean up biohazard waste (training provided)
- Support and train new staff and provide feedback as well as employee reviews within the existing guidelines to ensure they have the tools necessary to succeed
- Cover additional shifts as necessary to meet the operational needs of the store
- Handle customer complaints and inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Complete monthly inventory counts
- Perform other duties as assigned or directed
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Previous experience in grocery, produce, or food service industries
- Minimum 1 year management experience (specific experience in the Grocery industry is an asset)
- Knowledge and understanding of product, ordering, merchandising and quality control for produce
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Computer skills including point of sale system, Word, Excel, and Google (Gmail, Google Docs & Google Sheets)
- Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, bending and twisting
