OVERVIEW
The Line & Prep Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and assembling menu items in accordance with company recipes, food safety standards, and operational procedures. This role supports the daily operation of the kitchen by maintaining high food quality, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation practices, and contributing to an efficient and organized work environment.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment
- Experience operating commercial grills and rotisserie equipment safely and efficiently while following company cooking procedures and product specifications
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices
- Ability to follow standardized recipes, portion specifications, and presentation standards
- Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills
- Attention to detail with a commitment to quality and consistency
- Ability to work independently while supporting overall kitchen operations
- Previous restaurant or commercial kitchen experience is required
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/ACTIVITIES
- Prepare ingredients and complete daily prep lists in accordance with company recipes and specifications
- Cook and assemble menu items while maintaining consistency, quality, and presentation standards
- Operate grills, fryers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Ensure all food is prepared, stored, and handled in compliance with food safety regulations and company policies
- Monitor product quality, freshness, and proper holding temperatures throughout each shift
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitized workstations, equipment, and storage areas
- Complete opening, closing, and cleaning duties as assigned
- Rotate inventory using First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures and minimize food waste through proper portioning and storage
- Communicate effectively with kitchen team members to ensure timely and accurate order preparation
- Report equipment malfunctions, product shortages, or food safety concerns promptly to management
- Follow all company recipes, operational procedures, and brand standards consistently
- Support other kitchen duties and team members as required to ensure smooth restaurant operations
GENERAL
- Fluent in English and effective communication with guests, team members, and management
- Compliance with all company policies, operational standards, and safety procedures is required
- Must maintain professional behaviour, confidentiality, and team-oriented conduct
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Perform other duties as assigned to support restaurant operations and brand standards
