Position Overview
We are seeking a Construction Estimator with 3–5 years of experience to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for custom homes, renovations, site servicing, landscaping, and general contracting projects. This is an in-office position, working closely with our internal project management and operations teams.
Responsibilities
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Perform quantity take-offs for all trades and scopes of work.
- Source pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring competitiveness and accuracy.
- Develop detailed budgets, cash flow projections, and bid submissions.
- Collaborate internally with project managers and leadership on cost planning and value engineering.
- Maintain and update cost databases and historical project pricing.
- Support tendering processes for both residential and site servicing/landscaping projects.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of construction estimating experience (residential, ICI, or civil).
- Proficiency in Bluebeam for take-offs (experience with Excel and other estimating tools an asset).
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and trade scopes.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and GTA construction pricing is considered an asset.
- Post-secondary education in construction, engineering, or a related field is an asset but not required.
Compensation
- Salary: $70,000 – $90,000 annually (commensurate with experience).
