Mastermind Youth Foundation is seeking a passionate and dedicated student for an on-site Basketball Coach role in Sarnia-Lambton. As the Basketball Coach, you will play a pivotal role in developing our flagship The Shores 3x3 Basketball program and 3x3 Basketball summer camp.
Responsibilities:
- Coaching youth basketball teams and executing comprehensive training plans.
- Executing practices
- Executing day camps for ages 8 to 12 and teaching grassroots 3x3 basketball.
- Mentoring youth while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development.
- Communicating effectively with players, parents, and staff to ensure a positive, inclusive experience.
- Assisting in executing a local charity 3x3 basketball tournament at Lambton College in Sarnia.
This role offers a unique opportunity to mentor young athletes while contributing to a vibrant community program.
Qualifications
- Student
- College or university basketball playing or coaching experience.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and mentorship abilities.
- Previous experience in youth sports or coaching is an asset.
- Ability to work on-site in Sarnia, ON and Forest, ON and to travel for Ontario-based tournaments.
- Valid driver’s license.
- A passion for youth development and promoting teamwork.
