Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host/Server to join our dynamic restaurant team. Duties
- Greet guests warmly and manage reservations using POS systems such as Square POS
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus, explaining specials and answering questions
- Take accurate orders from guests, utilizing proper food handling and service techniques
- Enter orders into POS system accurately and process payments with cash handling skills
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of dining areas, adhering to food safety standards
- Assist in food preparation or kitchen support as needed, maintaining proper sanitation protocols
- Manage guest inquiries or concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction and positive guest experiences
- Maintain effective time management to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
- Support team members with tasks such as basic math calculations for bills and managing cashier responsibilities
- Assistant team mates in cleaning duties
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality industry preferred
- Knowledge of POS systems, particularly Square POS, is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Basic math skills for cashiering, billing, and upselling purposes
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Experience with food industry operations including serving, food preparation, and guest services is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to upsell menu items while maintaining excellent guest relations
- Flexibility to work early mornings and weekends
