About Us
Little Smiles Child Care is a new out of school program located in High River, AB. We are at the final phase of obtaining the Child Care licence and planning to start operation by mid of August 2026. Our Out of School program includes only Kindergarten to Grade 6 students.
We are actively looking for passionate, creative, energetic, and nurturing early childhood educators to join our growing team and support our mission to foster curiosity, kindness, and mindful learning.
Position Details
- Job Type: Full-time / Part-Time / Casual
- Hours: 30–40 hours per week (depends on position)
- Operating Hours: Monday to Friday, 6.30 a.m. –6.00 p.m
- Compensation: Pay is negotiable based on education and experience
Requirements
- Alberta Early Childhood Educator Certificate Level 1, 2, or 3 (required
- Criminal Record Check (issued within the last 6 months)
- Current First Aid & CPR Certification
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
- Excellent communication skills — able to collaborate with colleagues and engage parents effectively
- Commitment to professional development and continuous learning
- Strong understanding of emergent curriculum and play-based learning, with the ability to plan experiences based on children's interests, strengths, and developmental needs. Experience implementing Alberta's FLIGHT: Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework is considered an asset
- Thorough knowledge of Alberta Child Care Licensing Standards, Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation, and best practices in health, safety, and risk management within an early learning environment
