Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Bakery Manager to oversee the daily operations of our bakery. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for cake decorating, ensuring that our team delivers high-quality baked goods while maintaining an efficient and productive work environment. Duties
- Supervise and lead the bakery team, fostering a positive work environment that encourages collaboration and creativity.
- Oversee food preparation processes to ensure quality standards are met consistently.
- Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed to maintain optimal stock for production.
- Train and mentor staff in baking techniques, kitchen safety, and sanitation practices.
- Conduct interviews for new team members, ensuring that the hiring process aligns with our bakery’s values and standards.
- Implement effective scheduling to ensure adequate coverage during peak hours while managing labor costs.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust as necessary to meet demands without compromising quality.
- Liaise with suppliers and vendors when they visit the store.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the kitchen area, adhering to health regulations and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a bakery or restaurant setting.
- Strong leadership skills with a track record of successful team management.
- Experience in supervising staff and fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.
- Knowledge of restaurant management practices, including inventory control and cost management.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with team members and customers.
