Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Tutor specializing in English reading and writing to support students in developing their literacy skills. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt lessons to meet individual student needs. Duties
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions focused on reading comprehension, writing skills, and language development in English.
- Develop customized lesson plans tailored to each student’s learning style and proficiency level.
- Utilize engaging teaching methods to motivate students and improve their confidence in reading and writing.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Support students in mastering grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and essay writing techniques.
- Incorporate additional languages such as Mandarin, French, Spanish, or Japanese into lessons if applicable or requested.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding achievements and areas for improvement.
- Create a positive, encouraging learning environment that fosters curiosity and academic success.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children or adolescents in educational settings is preferred.
- Classroom teaching or tutoring experience is highly desirable.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Multilingual abilities such as Mandarin, French, Spanish, or Japanese are considered a plus.
- Familiarity with different teaching methodologies and educational tools to enhance student engagement.
- Passion for education, patience, and adaptability to meet diverse learning needs.

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
