We are currently seeking a motivated Field Service Technician to join our growing team. This position offers the opportunity to travel across Canada working on exciting hotel projects, electronic lock installations, and service calls.
Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Field Service Technician based in the Greater Toronto Area. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electronic locking systems, door hardware, and security equipment at hotels and commercial properties throughout Canada.
The technician will work extensively with hospitality locking systems including Onity electronic hotel locks, wall readers, mobile access systems, and related door hardware. Work will include new installations, retrofits, repairs, service calls, system troubleshooting, programming, and customer support.
Projects may require travel throughout Ontario and across Canada for hotel renovations, lock upgrades, and large-scale installations. Some overnight travel will be required depending on project location.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Installation and configuration of electronic hotel locking systems including Onity products
- Installation of door hardware including mortise locks, closers, exit devices, strikes, operators, and wall readers
- Troubleshooting and repair of security and locking systems
- Service work at hotels, commercial buildings, and institutional facilities
- Reading drawings, floor plans, and hardware schedules
- Coordinating with project managers, hotel staff, and contractors on-site
- Maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach while working in occupied hotel environments
- Completing documentation, service reports, and project updates
Qualifications
- Basic mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools
- Willingness to learn electronic lock systems, door hardware, and security equipment — training will be provided
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working on construction sites, hotels, and commercial properties
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to travel throughout Ontario and across Canada for projects when required
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience with door hardware, locksmithing, access control, or low-voltage systems is considered an asset, but not required
- Ability to safely handle tools and equipment while following safety procedures
- Reliable, punctual, and motivated to learn and grow within the company
