Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Restaurant Server to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional guest service, ensure food safety and sanitation standards, and create a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop hospitality skills and grow within the food service industry. Prior food industry or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; a positive attitude and strong customer service skills are essential. The position involves serving guests, handling food and beverages, and supporting the overall dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests promptly and courteously, ensuring a positive first impression
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Micros POS
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining presentation standards
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales
- Handle cash transactions accurately, including cashiering and cash handling duties
- Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures are followed at all times
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, dining areas, and service stations in accordance with sanitation standards
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders
- Manage multiple tables efficiently through effective time management skills
- Address guest inquiries or concerns professionally to ensure a positive dining experience
Qualifications
- Previous food service or restaurant experience preferred but not required; training provided for motivated candidates
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Knowledge of POS systems such as Micros POS is a plus
- Ability to handle food safely and maintain sanitation standards in a fast-paced environment
- Good time management skills to serve multiple tables efficiently
- Basic math skills for billing, cash handling, and order accuracy
- Familiarity with food industry terminology including food preparation, guest services, and hospitality concepts is advantageous
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a high-energy environment
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members
