Job Overview
Oak Bay Preschool is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Substitute Teachers to join our team. This role involves providing high-quality care and education to young children in a preschool setting, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, compassionate, and possess a strong passion for early childhood education. As a Substitute Teacher, you will support classroom activities, assist with daily routines, and help maintain a positive learning atmosphere for all children.
Responsibilities
- Implement daily lesson plans and activities in the absence of the regular Teacher or Teacher assistant
- Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, and mealtimes
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that promotes social and emotional development
- Communicate effectively with children, staff, and parents regarding daily activities and children's progress
- Assist with classroom management and behavior guidance strategies
- Support children's individual needs,
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in a preschool or early childhood education setting is mandatory
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and early childhood development principles
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff
- Must have ECE or ECEA
- Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to new environments and routines while maintaining professionalism
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
