Carpenter Apprentice (2nd or 3rd Year)
KODA Developments is seeking a motivated and reliable 2nd or 3rd Year Carpenter Apprentice to join our team. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, solid foundational carpentry skills, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of commercial projects while contributing to a productive and professional site environment.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will assist with and perform a range of carpentry and general construction tasks, including:
- Framing basics, including walls, blocking, backing, layout assistance, and reading simple plans.
- Formwork support, including assisting with setting forms, stripping, bracing, and safe handling of form materials.
- Door and hardware prep, including installing hollow metal frames, basic door hanging, and hardware preparation.
- Interior systems work, such as backing for millwork, drywall preparation, and minor finishing tasks.
- Concrete-related work, including placing, vibrating, and screeding assistance.
- Maintaining a high level of measurement accuracy using a tape measure, level, and square.
- Safe and effective use of power tools and hand tools, including saws, drills, impacts, nailers, and standard hand tools.
Safety Requirements
Safety is a core priority at KODA Developments. Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of safe work practices and site compliance, including:
- Valid safety tickets: CSTS, WHMIS, Fall Protection, and First Aid.
- Consistent PPE compliance, including boots, safety glasses, gloves, hard hat, and high-visibility clothing.
- Understanding of site rules and procedures, including lockout/tagout basics, hazard reporting, and housekeeping standards.
- Proven safe work habits, including following direction, respecting barricades, and avoiding shortcuts.

Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this role, candidates should have:
- Confirmed 2nd or 3rd Year Carpenter Apprentice status.
- Experience working on commercial and residential projects.
- Exposure to a range of carpentry and construction scopes such as concrete, framing, finishing, demolition, and hardware installation.
- References from a foreman or superintendent who can speak to work quality, reliability, and overall performance.
