Farm Education Support (Canada Summer Jobs Position)
Nanaimo Foodshare is seeking an enthusiastic and community-minded Farm Education Support to join our team for the summer! This position provides meaningful, hands-on work experience while building valuable skills for future employment.
About the Role
Working closely with the Education Coordinator, the Farm Education Support will support the delivery of engaging, community-based food education programs. This dynamic role takes place both outdoors on our urban farm and in our commercial kitchen.
You will help facilitate activities such as eco-farm tours, food growing and harvesting, outdoor cooking, food skills workshops, and children’s day camps. Participants will learn how to prepare fresh, farm-grown produce while exploring topics like climate change, environmental sustainability, and local food systems.
What You’ll Gain

Key Responsibilities
- Support educational programs, workshops, and day camps

- Promote programs and assist with outreach and resource development
- Adapt activities to ensure programs are inclusive and accessible
- Support a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for all participants

You will engage with a wide range of community members, including youth, families, seniors, newcomers to Canada, Indigenous communities, people with disabilities, and members of the 2SLGBTQI+ community.
