Duties
- Diagnose and repair refrigeration systems using schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to identify issues accurately.
- Install, service, and maintain refrigeration units, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to facilitate precise installation and troubleshooting.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and effectively during maintenance or installation projects.
- Perform system upgrades or modifications to improve efficiency or meet new operational requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections of refrigeration equipment to prevent failures and extend system lifespan.
- Collaborate with construction teams on projects involving refrigeration components integrated into larger building systems such as electrical wiring, plumbing, or masonry work.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports documenting repairs, parts used, and system performance.
Skills
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams related to refrigeration systems.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment operation essential for installation and repairs.
- Construction experience including carpentry, concrete forming, masonry, or electrical work is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of construction estimating and project planning enhances your ability to manage job scope effectively.
- Familiarity with plumbing, welding, caulking, flooring installation, tile laying or cabinetry can be beneficial for integrated system projects.
- Electrical experience necessary for troubleshooting electrical components within refrigeration units.
- Ability to interpret schematics accurately for complex refrigeration system diagnostics.
- Experience in restoration or renovation projects involving HVAC or refrigeration systems is a plus.
